Wolf's Honour

Oh the forest fears the wolf beneath the silver moon
They whisper of his claws beneath the endless night
They never see him guard his own beneath the pale moonlight
They never see him waiting by the den before the dawn comes soon
Oh they call him cruel because his fangs are made of stone
They never hear the hunger he carries in his chest
For every step he takes is so his family may rest
For every bone he breaks is for the ones he calls his own
Oh nobody asks why the wolf cries into the sky
Nobody asks what names are hidden within his song
Never knowing where his loyalty belongs
They only fear the shadow passing by
The wolf was never cruel in the end
We only feared a heart we could not call friend
