A Flower Field

Oh I walked through a field today
Where every flower bowed with the wind
And none of them wondered why they bloomed
They bloomed in the wild
And the plains enhanced even those that were mild
The world speaks so often of its ugliness
Yet it seems no more than a field without an end
One that asks only to be walked through
Or perhaps beauty was never rare
Perhaps we simply forgot to look down
As we searched how to fly
